7. i had to comment out unicode_stop in /etc/init.d/console-screen.sh and /etc/init.d/keymap.sh to prevent the bootsplash to turn off during boot. According to DebBlue faq8 .

8. all you have to do now is to reboot and you have a nice progressbar ;-)
